DOITCARE is an online insurance community of like-minded people who love trees and are bicycle enthusiasts. DOITCARE promotes the maintenance of forests but also the continuous tree planting in all areas of the world. DOITCARE is a firm supporter of paperless business operations and this is the core of its target.

DOITCARE collects your personal information to offer you the most comprehensive personal service. DOITCARE is committed in protecting your rights with regard to your protection against the processing of your personal data and your right to private life.

Who it is addressed to

This Policy is addressed to natural persons who are existing or potential customers of DOITCARE, registered users, authorized persons, third parties, suppliers and associates. By providing your personal data or the information of another person, such as a person covered by an Insurance Policy, or a person who makes an application to whom you had consented or obtained authorization to the processing of their data, you agree that we will use such data in the manner explained in detail in this Policy and you should refer the person whose personal information you provide to DOITCARE to read this Policy.

From time to time, some changes to the Policy may need to be made in order to keep pace with changes in the legislation or technological developments. You should periodically check DOITCARE’s website for the most recent version of the Policy.

 

In the Policy your personal data is sometimes referred to as "personal data", "personal information" or "data".

 

In the present Policy, personal data is considered to be any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person.

When we refer to the fact that your personal data is subject to "processing", this term includes any operation which is performed in relation to such data such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.

Principles regarding the Processing of Personal Data

 

The Processing Principles that we apply are the following:

  1. The personal data collected is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is collected by DOITCARE.
  2. Your personal data is collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and not further processed in a manner that is incompatible with those purposes for which DOITCARE collects such data.
  3. Your personal data is accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date and kept for only the period necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.
  4. Your personal data is processed in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the personal data, including protection against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage, using appropriate technical or organisational measures.
  5. When we transmit your personal data to any physical, legal or other person carrying processing on behalf of DOITCARE, we take the necessary steps to protect your data, such as entering into data processing agreements.

 

How we collect your personal data

Your personal data is collected by DOITCARE through the DOITCARE App or the DOITCARE website. Data is provided directly by you to DOITCARE unless a  registered user/customer of DOITCARE designates you as named driver in an insurance proposal or in a claim when such claim is submitted by your legal representative.

We may collect personal information through telephone communication which might be recorded.

Also, we may collect personal data about you through insurance policies or other documents that you may select to upload to the DOITCARE App or the DOITCARE website for your ease of reference in the filing of your policies and documents.

Kinds of personal data that we process

We process various kinds of personal data that we collect from our registered users.

DOITCARE collects and processes personal data as follows:

  1. personal information, such as contact details, name, e-mail address. mail, mailing address, telephone, occupation or work
  2. Information about your identity, such as date of birth, No. Identity card, Passport No. Driving licence
  3. Information for other persons included in the insurance contract or named in the insurance proposal or contract;
  4. Information about the site or location or area that you are in to assist you in the event of an accident. This information may be obtained through a third party electronic application.
  5. Other information such as:
  • Bank account number, or debit or credit cards.
  • Related to the insurance products such as information about your vehicle prior insurances or details regarding claims either personal or against third parties or recent other damages. Such information may include all persons or third parties who participated in or were involved in the event which created the claim.
  • Whether you are or have been bankrupt, or if you are being charged with previous convictions, or penalty points regarding the use of your motor vehicle, or if there are pending court procedures against you;
  • Sensitive personal data such as information about your state of health and/or mental health, e.g. whether any of the drivers of a vehicle suffers from diabetes, epilepsy, etc. or a physical or mental illness or disability affecting the ability to drive
  • On previous accidents, diseases and treatment or care
  • Details you provide during a phone call with DOITCARE.

 

How we use your personal data

We mainly use your personal data to create your insurance profile that is forwarded to the licensed insurance intermediary and subsequently to the insurance company for evaluation and invoicing of the insurance risk and for the issue the insurance policy.

We also process personal data to help you through our App in the event of an accident and to monitor a potential claim. 

Finally we process your personal data so that we can give you the best information about your interests in relation to trees, bicycles and the environment.

Who we may share your personal data with 

We are obligated under applicable law to disclose your personal data to an insurance intermediary and/or to the insurance company that will provide the insurance cover you need and will issue the relevant insurance policy Contract. 

Also your personal data will be communicated through the DOITCARE Application or website to card payment processors or IT service providers. In these cases, third parties Act and process your data on behalf of DOITCARE and who are governed by and implement their own policies for the protection of personal data. Where the data will be be passed in a country outside the European Union which does not ensure an adequate level of protection of the data of natural persons, measures are taken to ensure adequate protection of the Data such as the conclusion of contractual clauses between DOITCARE and the third party by virtue of which the third parties undertake various obligations relating to the protection of information transmitted by DOITCARE.

 

Period during which we keep your personal data.

Our main purpose is to maintain your personal data only during the period required for the purposes of the collection/processing, such as for the period during which the insurance contract lasts between us. and/or for the period when you remain registered users of the DOITCARE application.

In some cases there is a legal or regulatory obligation to retain data for more time. In the event that, for any reason, our contractual relationship is terminated we will retain the data until the limitation period of any relevant legal claims has elapsed, unless there is a legal obligation to further maintain such data.

In the event that you provide us with some data for the purpose of providing an insurance service, but the offer is not accepted (in the sense that it does not lead to a contractual relationship), your data will be retained until the end of the next calendar year following the date of submission of the offer and the data collection unless you provide us with your consent to further preserve your data for another purpose.

If you wish to know whether we retain any personal data concerning you and/or what data we retain, you may exercise your right of access and receive a copy of that data. More information about your rights is listed in the next section.

 

Your rights

Subject to the provisions of relevant law, you have certain rights regarding the Personal Information we collect, use or disclose and that is related to you, including the right

  1. to receive information on the Personal Information concerning we hold about you and how such Personal Information is used (right to access);
  2. to rectify inaccurate Personal Information concerning you (right to data rectification);
  3. to delete/erase your Personal Information (right to erasure/deletion, “right to be forgotten”);
  4. to receive the Personal Information provided by you in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit those Personal Information to another data controller (right to data portability)
  5. to object to the use of your Personal Information where such use is based on our legitimate interests or on public interests (right to object); and
  6. in some cases, to restrict our use of your Personal Information (right to restriction of processing).
  7. Revoke or withdraw the consent you have provided us for the processing of your data (revocation right). However, please note that the revocation of the consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing which was based on consent prior to revocation.
  8. You have the right to complain to the Commissioner of Personal data protection if you have a complaint regarding the processing of your personal data by us (right to submit a complaint).

Marketing

We may use some of your personal data that we maintain, such as contact information, for the purposes of informing you about products, services or offers that may be of interest to you.

You are in control of how we use your information to commercially promote the products and services we offer, and for this reason we ask for your consent to the marketing of our products.

Sometimes, if we do not have your consent to commercial promotion of our products and you are an existing customer, we may use as a basis for your information about our products, the legitimate interest of DOITCARE in informing you of Its products, services or various offers that may be of interest to you.

In the event that you do not wish to be informed about our services, products or offers, you may at any time inform us of this desire or revoke or withdraw your previously given consent and Stop contacting you for this purpose. You can do this either in person or in writing in our mailing address or in our email address which is mentioned in the relevant paragraph below.
